Latvia, Estonia: residential property prices rise in the capitals. Australia: more new homes to appear in the country. USA: a vacant office building is being rented for 1 million per month.

This September, residential property prices on Canada's primary market have increased by 0.5%, compared to August. The September growth has become the sharpest monthly increase of the present indicator since January 2008.

Swedish apartment prices have increased by 1% this October. Over the same period, the cost of private homes has decreased, also by 1%. According to the experts of the Association of Swedish Real Estate Agents, the growth of Swedish residential property prices is explained by record-low interest rates and the predominance of demand over
supply.

According to Latio, one of the leading Latvian realtor agencies, the cost of apartments in Riga has climbed up by 3% in October, compared with September. The average cost per a square meter of Riga's typical apartment works out €515 per a sq. m.

In October, 545 transactions with apartments have been inked in Tallinn, the average price has worked out 12 949 kroner (€827.5) per a sq. m. In comparison to September, average apartment prices have increased by 5.7%.

The average home prices have increased by 0.9%, October-to-September, in 70 first-tier cities of China. Residential property on the primary market has appreciated by 0.9% in comparison to September, while soaring by 4% in yearly calculations. As for the secondary market, the growth of the present indicator in the segment has amounted to 0.4% and
4.6%, respectively.

According to the US National Association of Realtors, in yearly comparisons, the cost of residential property has reduced in eight out of every ten US cities over Q3. In comparison to Q2 2009, sales volume has soared by more than 11%, reaching the yearly level of 5.3
million properties.

The volume of residential property sales on Kiev's primary market is not expected to exceed 400 transactions by the year-end, while prior to the crisis the indicator has been working out 10-12 thousand transactions a year. That said developers are not in a hurry to lower the prices, thus, over September-October the cost of local housing has only decreased by 0.2%, down to 15.4 thousand hryvnia ($1,918) per a sq. m.

The number of permits issued for residential construction in Australia has climbed up by 2.7%, September-to-August. In the segment of private construction the indicator has been increasing over the past eight months.

In yearly comparisons, the number of permits issued and the amount of work completed in
Danish construction sector have plummeted by 31%, over Q3, reaching their historical low.

The News Corporation, a company owned by Rupert Murdoch, monthly spends over $1 million renting an empty office complex in Los Angeles. The company had planned to move the office of MySpace social network (which belongs to the News Corporation) there as the number of service's users has been growing steadily. Correspondingly, the need to expand the project's staff has also been increasing. However, MySpace has subsequently lost its position of a leader on the social networks market (the palm is now carried by Facebook). Apparently, because of that, the need to increase the number of MySpace employees has been eliminated. In addition, News Corporation failed to sub-lease the building.
